Follow the Lite

LiteWork Events originated as a vision to create an Urban Socialite Network in Boston. What better way to build on this vision than to highlight some of Boston’s most dynamic urban young professionals and socialites! Check out our latest feature, and hopefully you’ll also catch up with them at our next event!

Name: Ms. Sara ReddSara Redd

Where are you from? Born and Raised in the Grove Hall neighborhood of Boston

Alma Mater? I attended Boston Latin School and went on to Spelman College in Atlanta, earning a BA in Political Science. I received an MBA from Simmons School of Management in Boston.

What brings you to Boston?
I relocated back to Boston after living and working in Atlanta post graduating from my MBA program. After coaching tennis at Spelman College for two years, I moved back home to Boston because I had outgrown the Atlanta lifestyle and wanted to change careers. I was also ready to create and build my non-profit organization, The W.E.L.L. Networks, Inc., and felt that my hometown was the perfect place to start it. I love event planning and believe Boston has a great network of young professionals to engage.

Tell us about yourself (What are you passionate about? Any side hustles?):
I am an innovative and very forward thinking professional.I am a full time Grants Coordinator at Biogen and find joy in encouraging others and mentoring young people.I teach tennis on occasion and love to be active in my community.

I also have a passion for event planning and bringing like-minded people together. I always love a good time and meeting new people. Boston is a large city but the Black community is very small and close-knit. It is my desire to unite all women in and around Boston through my non-profit organization, The W.E.L.L. Networks, Inc. – Women Exchanging Life Lessons, and through various social events.

I plan to continue traveling the world and eventually build several successful businesses.

What’s one thing we should know about you? My faith, family and close relationships are extremely important to me. Without faith or a strong support system, I would not have made it this far!
