Follow the Lite

LiteWork Events originated as a vision to create an Urban Socialite Network in Boston. What better way to build on this vision than to highlight some of Boston’s most dynamic urban young professionals and socialites! Check out our latest feature, and hopefully you’ll also catch up with them at our next event!

Name: Tiffany ProbascoTiffany Probasco

Where are you from? Portland, OR

Alma Mater? Florida State University (Go Noles!) for undergrad, B.A. in Spanish/Film Studies Minor and Suffolk University Masters of Science in Adult and Organizational Learning.

What brings you to Boston? I came for my Masters degree and ended up staying!

Tell us about yourself (What are you passionate about? Any side hustles?):

By day I’m an English and Communications professor at Bunker Hill Community College. I also have joined Berklee College of Music to teach a course this summer. I specialize in working with international students who want to learn English –  ESL students. I am very passionate about education, community and bringing people from different cultures and walks of life together. Boston is a great city to practice education and to be educated. We have so many brilliant minds here, and I feel very privileged and humbled to be able to be a part of the student learning process.

By night, or my “side hustle” is being a lifestyle blogger for TheFabEmpire.com. I am the editor for the site in Boston, but we have sister sites in Baltimore, DC and New York. This means I get to go out to many events throughout the week and get to share with the world that Boston has a lot more vibrancy and culture than people may think. I have an extreme passion for the arts and young artists of any medium that are looking for ways to highlight their work that they are doing in the community. I feel that Boston is on the cusp of becoming one of the largest hubs of creatives in the country and blogging and social media are great tools to use to help spread that message.

Being an editor for the blog has allowed me the opportunity to join the Greater Boston Visitors Bureau Multicultural Committee. I am very excited to be working with the team to continue to have large scale conventions exposed to what Boston has to offer.

What’s one thing we should know about you?

I am super friendly – or at least I try to be – and I try to make everyone feel comfortable around me; perhaps, that’s the West Coast in me. If I say I’m going to follow up with you, I really mean it – I will! Also I really love the outdoors and traveling. Don’t let the cocktail dresses fool you, I’ll exchange heels for hiking boots any day. And, I haven’t met a kayak or zip line I wouldn’t try out!

How can people connect with you? You can check out the blog at www.thefabempire.com, instagram me @bostonfab1, tweet me @bostonfab or e-mail me bostonfab@thefabempire.com

And there you have it folks… #followthelite!
