#FollowtheLite October Feature: Kenny Mascary

Follow the LiteLiteWork Events originated as a vision to create an Urban Socialite Network in Boston. What better way to build on this vision than to highlight some of Boston’s most dynamic urban young professionals and socialites! Check out our latest feature, and hopefully you’ll also catch up with them at our next event!

Name: Kenny MascaryKenny Mascary

Where are you from? I was born in Queens and raised in Port-au-Prince, Haiti

Alma Mater? Go Huskies! [Northeastern University]

What brings you to Boston? Mostly college and the fact that my family, which I’m extremely close to, lives here.

Tell us about yourself (What are you passionate about? Any side hustles?):

I currently work for the city of Cambridge’s Department of Human Services Youth Program Division and I am also a High School basketball official.

As a “side hustle” I am the founder and curator of @NYA.Boston (read Not Your Average Boston), which is a collective of world class talent seeking to support and promote our culture via assorted series of programs and exhibits. Our first signature event, Rhythm & Brunch (#RnBrunchBOS), takes place once a month on Sundays at Causeway Bar & Restaurant. #RnBrunch is a monthly brunch offering a-la-carte brunch options and R&B vibes featuring some of Boston’s dopest DJs.

I am also working on bringing an annual basketball camp to Haiti, which will provide opportunities for players, coaches and  referees to meet, network, and learn from top basketball talent from around the world.

What’s one thing we should know about you? I am a junkie for anything and everything dope. So if you’re doing dope work, I want to connect with you.

How can people connect with you? If you’re on Instagram, follow @NYA.Boston for upcoming events or follow my personal account @k_masc86

And there you have it folks… #followthelite
